We live in a fast phase technology where we learn new techniques and alternatives in order for us to be more productive without any complexities, which is in other hand a great advantage for each one of us. Paying bills is the best example that really gets us stuck in a long and boring ques. You need to be early for you to be able not to spend much time waiting for your turn. Canola Oil: Your Heart Mate

By Unknown - September 25, 2017

We Filipinos are known for being health and body conscious. We do everything the best we can in order for us to get fit and maintain our good figure. Eating healthy foods, and working out in a gym everyday, are some of the most common activities that we usually do. But, doing those things aren't enough, we also need to be particular with the ingredients that were put into the food we eat and it should be heart-friendly. One main ingredient in sauteing and frying is the oil used for it. On the other hand, I may be at a tight budget at home but when doing grocery shopping, I always give enough budget for the oil I use in cooking, regardless the price because I believe that oil is one of the main reasons of our heart's illness.

For me, there is only one oil that's good for our heart and that is Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil. I have attended the cooking demo of the esteemed celebrity chef Donita Rose at the KCC Mall of GenSan. Tuna as one of the its star ingredients and this is what she said and I quote "As a food-centric city, it's important for every hosuehold to look for ingredients and learn cooking techniques that are beneficial both for health and satisfaction for the whole family". Like Jolly heart Mate Canola Oil which contains the lowest amount of bad fats (saturated fats) but packs in the good kind like Omega 3 & 6.

Meeting the Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil ambassadress, Chef Donita Rose was a great oppportunity for me to learn more about cooking especially to local moms and foodies as she shares her techniques and passion in cooking during GenSan's 19th Tuna Festival, the city;s annual festival that celebrates its leading Tuna industry.

Chef Donita, prepared Ginataang Tuna with Luyang Dilaw serving good for 6 pax.

INGREDIENTS:

2 tbsp. salt in 2 cups of water

2 tbsp. Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil

1/2 kg. Tuna Fillet, boneless

4 bay leaves

2 medium white onion, chopped

4 medium shallots, chopped

2 tbsp. garlic, minced

4 tbsp. ginger, grated

4 tbsp. turmeric, grated

2 cups unsweetened coconut milk

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar, divided

4 tablespoons honey, divided in two portions

6 Green Chili Fingers, whole

Leeks, long strips for serving (soak in ice water to make it curl)

Cilantro for serving

Salt and Pepper to taste

Cooked rice for serving

PREPARATION:

1. Soak the Tuna fillet in the brine solution for 10 minutes then drain on paper towels.

2. Season tuna with a little salt and pepper then in a grill pan over high heat.

3. Add 1 tbsp. Jolly heart Canola Oil. Make sure to cook the fillet to medium rare only or until the center is still red. Set aside.

4. In another large pan over medium heat, add another tbsp. of Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil.

5. Saute onions, shallots, garlic and ginger and cook. Stir often until golden brown and very fragrant.

6. Add the turmeric and vinegar before throwing in the chili fingers and the bay leaves.

7. Bring to a boil and cook until liquid is reduced by about one-third.

8. Add the coconut milk and stir a littler before adding the tuna to the sauce. Reduce the sauce again to a thick consistency.

9. Mix in 2 tbsp. of honey to balance acidity and more salt and pepper as needed. Transfer onto a serving plate then drizzle with the remaining honey.

10. Top with a lot of leeks and cilantro bunched together and served with hot rice.

Cooking Tuna dish with a twist really tastes good whether you bake it, broil, grill or fry especially when you use the Jolly Heart Canola Oil which makes any dish irresistible and appetizing. So for a healthier you, choose ONLY Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil, a budge-friendly for all consumers available at any Mall supermarkets and other outlets.

We always encounter struggles in life, which is a reality. Sometimes we are caught in a moment where we find ourselves having a hard time in coping up. Different approach we do for ourselves in order for us to fell relaxed and calm. Well, in my case, i do spend much time with my pets, surfing the net, or even go for stress eating which i find them more comforting. But, believe me there are plenty of good ways to have a relaxed and stress free body. Here's my tip; first is having a whole body massage, just like what others say and i quote, "We can't buy happiness but we can buy massage and that kind of the same thing."

As a Bank employee, I often deal with clients with different personalities and in a different environment, which is part of my job. It is my daily routine to be flexible as much as I can but it's not that easy as it seem. Sometimes, it'll get you emotionally and physically drained and stressed. And I know, there's only one way for me to rejuvenate and recharge, that is to have a good massage in a relaxing paradise ambiance.

From a very long day of work, i decided to stop by in a massage spa beside Quennies Village, along National Highway. For the first time, out of my curiosity I tried the Traditional Sauna and choose the Package S2 (Hot Shower, 15-20min Sauna & 1 1/2 Hour Signature Massage) and saved P200. My 2hours experience indeed made me relaxed and full of showered energy from the hands of the therapist. (hehe)
